ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR 2017

ENTRY DATES

Beginning of registrations (application form + video entry + administrative fee): Apr 22nd 2017
Participants’ deadline registration application form + attached video + administrative fee: July 15 2017 at 23,59h for Elite and July 31st for all other
Publication of participants’ final list: aprox August 1st for Elite, August 15th 2017 for all other
Deadline to send final inscription donation payment receipt: immediately, latest August 31st 2017. If we didn’t receive payment confirmation by then, we assume participant will not take his place and pass it to the next selected participant on reserve. 
Deadline to MP3 audio track+ character description: October  1st 2017
Championship’s Final Show: Alcalá de Henares (Madrid) 12th and 13th of November 2017

CONTESTANT

Contestant is a person who:

            • Needs to have valid ID document (passport, resident’s card, ID card, etc.) and health insurance valid throughout all competition.
            • Has to send an application via the application form and application fee. On behalf of contestants under 18 years a legal representative or trainer has to fill in the application form.
            • Competition is opened to contestants of all nationalities as well as dance schools, studios, organizations representatives as any other private representatives.

VIDEO ENTRY INSTRUCTIONS:

            • Contestants have to send a link to a YouTube video of 3 minimum (unedited video of your pole dancing skill) via mail to info@poleartspain.com
            • download application form, fill it out and send it to info@poleartspain.com and confirmation of payment of 10 € application fee
            • Video entry fee: 10 € – entry only valid with proof of payment send together with the signed application form

              Application fee will be deducted from participation fee if participant was selected

            • Application deadline is 15.07.2017 at midnight for Elite and 31st of July for all other categories.
            • Video requirements:-    It has to be one shot video (in a studio, at your home or prior competition videos, but with no disturbing                  elements = clean background).-   Applicants are required to use two poles; 1 static, 1 spin, and must demonstrate trick combinations on both.-  Video cannot be edited in any way; it must show continuous dance performance of the applicant (eg: may not         fade in from one trick and out to another).

              –  Video must be upright for viewing – not sideways.

              –  PoleArtSpain does not take responsibility for copyright issues and whatever claims against the video are made      will be passed on to the applicant.

              –  Please make sure that video on youtube is not set on private. If you don’t want it to be public, set to unlisted, so     it can’t be found but still be seen with the link.

CATEGORIES

The competition is made out of one round and it is divided into 9 categories:
(Competitors will have the opportunity to test poles and stage area before competition).

Women International Elite

        • Pole dancing for 2+ years.
        • If you are an instructor.
        • If you have previously attended or won any elite competitions.

Men International Elite 

        • Pole dancing for 2+ years.
        • If you are an instructor.
        • If you have previously attended or won any elite competitions.

Couples International Elite 

        • Pole dancing for 2+ years.
        • If you have previously attended or won any elite competitions.

Women International Semi-Pro

        • Pole dancing for 2-5 years.
        • If you have attended competitions but never won (amateur category placement not counted).

Men International Semi-Pro 

        • Pole dancing for 2-5 years.
        • If you have attended competitions but never won (amateur category placement not counted).

Women International Amateur

        • Pole dancing for 1-2 years.
        • Must not be an instructor.
        • No handsprings, deadlifts & flips.
        • Did not take part in any national or international competition in category professionals or higher.

Men International Amateur

        • Pole dancing for 1-2 years.
        • Must not be an instructor.
        • No handsprings, deadlifts & flips.
        • Did not take part in any national or international competition in category professionals or higher.

Junior

        • All children 8 – 15 years old.

Masters

        • Contestants 40+  years of age.

Minimum contestants per category is 5.
The jury reserves the right to change Contestant’s category according to the video sent.

For each category the organization will select 5 more participants in “waiting list” so to include them if one or more selected participants will not attend because of injury, health problems etc. When needed organization will advice by email the participants “re-included”.

RULES AND REGULATIONS

The rules and regulations are to be complied with, and abided by, at all times with the Organizer, their representatives and the Venue.

CONDUCT

              • Engage in proper conduct at all times whilst involved in the competition.
              • No nudity, no G-strings or thongs. Violation of this requirement leads to immediate disqualification.
              • No vulgar language, body language or defamation of other contestants is permitted, either on stage or backstage.
              • The choreography should not show indecent or with too much erotic connotation gestures. No touching or rubbing intimate body parts. No twerking. All these gestures will be sanctioned by the jury.
              • You may not be under the influence of drugs or alcohol at any time during the competition.

DRESS CODE

              • Costumes and themed dress are encouraged and will earn you extra points.
              • Taking off any clothes when contestant will show any form of not suitable nudity is forbidden however it is allowed to take off parts of costume such as: coat, mask, jacket, skirt, BUT then the contestant will remain properly dressed and for men it is allowed to show naked upper body.
              • Gripping clothes such as latex, leather or any other similar material are not allowed in this competition.
              • Any kind of not suitable nudity (showing breast or intimate body parts) will immediately lead to disqualification of the Contestant.
              • Men are allowed to show naked upper body.
              • Allowed footwear: dancing/sport shoes (ballet, jazz, gymnastic), high heels (platforms max. 4 cm).
              • Gloves and knee or ankle protectors are not allowed unless during the registration contestants have shown proper documents from doctor with statement that he/she has serious problems.
              • The outfit must be correct (deceant). Body, Shorty (covering the bottom), adequate bra (covering the breasts). Strings and bikinis with transparency on the intimate parts are strictly forbidden.
              • It is forbidden to apply any kind of grip on the pole, but the candidate can apply it on his/her self. It is also forbidden to use any kind of body balms, lotions or creams that can break the equipment (poles) or can make poles slippery for other contestants use. List of grip aids accepted during the competition: Dry Grip, Dry Hands, Mighty Grip, Ebonite, Itac.

MUSIC
The Contestants have to provide MP3 file  with chosen music for their performance till latest 1st of October. Contestants are responsible for the correct settings of the track. Organizer can not edit audio file, adjust volume or background noise from file. Music can be a mixture of different songs and may contain lyrics.

If two or more contestants choose the same music, the contestant who sent it in first (date and time) gets the privilege to use it; the other contestant has to change. Original mixes or combination of several songs is allowed.

The duration of the choreography must be no less than 3:00 minute and no more than 3:30 minutes for amateur, semi-pro & junior categories. No less than 3.30 no more than 4.30 for elite & masters categories.

CHOREO

No handsprings,  deadlilfts or flips for amateur categories. Every prohibited movement has a -10 on score.

PHOTO AND FILM

The contestants explicitly agree that all footage and photos can be used by PoleArt Spain Organizers for promotional, advertising and commercial purposes.
All photo/video material remain the property of Organizers of PoleArt Spain.
The contestants have to be available for a photo shoot and possible media interviews before and after the competition.

PARTICIPATION FEE

PARTICIPATION FEES/Donations for the Championship are the followings:
Euro 60- for single (application fee included)
Euro 90.- for double (application fee included)

PLEASE INDICATE THE PARTICIPANT NAME IN THE PAYMENT CONFIRMATION.

THE PARTICIPATION FEES HAVE TO BE PAID ONLY BY THE SELECTED CANDIDATES THAT WILL COMPETE DURING THE FINAL (not by applicants that don’t enter the competition from selection).

When chosen for the competition music must be sent in MP3 format directly to info@poleartspain.com with the payment confirmation receipt by the deadlines indicated above.
Applicants will just have to follow the instructions given upon sending their application.

By filling out and signing the application form, the participants agree to the Conditions and terms of the organizer and to the General rules outlined below.

Organizers have the right to:

            •  record the championship and have all the rights to distribute the material. To eliminate videos or photographs that is of not suitable material.
            • The organizers reserve right to change rules & regulations of PoleArt Spain at any time.

JUDGING CRITERIA

Each judge will have the following scoring sheet. The decision of the judges is final.

The performance can be repeated:

              • If any technical problems occurred not caused by the contestant.
              • If any technical problems with the music occurred.
              • If contestant stopped because of technical problems with the poles not caused by him/her.
              • Jury takes anyway the final decision regarding the repetition of a performance.

The participants will be judged in two aspects:

1) Technical part
Correct execution of pole tricks, mastery on pole, strength and flexibility.

2) Artistic part
Capacity of expression, scene presence, fluidity of transitions, floor work, costume-music consistency, choreography.

The routine should be well balanced with flexi tricks, strength tricks, spins and dynamic movements and an equal use of the poles.

Each Judge will be provided with the following SCORING CARDS and provide it fulfilled back to the head judge at each “routine” end.

Judges will judge contestants from 1-10 (average is divided by amount of judges).
The contestant with highest number of points will win 1st, 2nd, 3rd place.
Judges can stop the performance at any time if they think the contestant is at health risk or safety problems, or if the contestant is not obeying to the rules.
Winners will be announced in 30 minutes after the final’s end.
Before the competition and during it is not allowed for contestants to stay in contact with members of jury.
